Emami Biotech Ltd incorporated in 2002 and belonging to the Emami Group of Kolkata, is engaged in refining of various oils (palm, soyaand sunflower). It has a refining capacity of 3,300 TPD for edible oil (2,750 TPD of Palm oil, 600 TPD of soya oil and 200 TPD of sunflower oil). The company is also involved in trading of mustard oils, sunflower oil and vegetable oils. The oil processed/refined by EBL are sold under the brand name of ‘Emami Healthy & Tasty’ in the premium segment and ‘Himani Gold n lite’ (Palm), ‘Himani Soya n lite’ (Soya) & ‘Himani Sun n Lite’ (Sunflower) in the popular segment, through the distribution network of 18 depots catering to 13 states through 400 distributors with direct retail coverage of around 60,000. EBL’s sales constituted of branded sales (34%) and bulk sales (66%). EBL also has a 300 TPD multi-
feed bio-diesel plant.
